IMPLEMENTATION OF GREEN CITY ACTION PLAN IN TULUNGAGUNG DISTRICT

Abstract

Urban problems that generally plague regions in Indonesia, such as water, air and land quality degradation, have become the driving force for implementing sustainable development practices. Green City as a concept of sustainable development, has eight attributes of an ideal Green City. The eight attributes of a green city are an integral unit that cannot be separated from one another. The efforts of Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Tulungaagung towards the ideal Green City, is contained in the Rencana Aksi Kota Hijau (RAKH). Through descriptive research with a qualitative approach, as well as interview and observation techniques, this study found that Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Tulungaagung has made efforts to fulfill the eight attributes of Green City. Although, there are inhibiting factors, the role of the community, helping the efforts towards an ideal Green City
