PERAN DUTA DAMAI JAWA TIMUR DALAM MENINGKATKAN NILAI-NILAI TOLERANSI GENERASI MUDA
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe the role of the East Java Peace Ambassador, the implications of the role of the East Java Peace Ambassador, and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the East Java Peace Ambassador in increasing the tolerance values of the younger generation. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection techniques and data sources were obtained from interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using three stages, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the role of the East Java Peace Ambassadors through several activities including a) education and awareness; b) responding to conflict and intolerant actions; c) forming inclusive attitudes; d) positive attitudes of the community; and e) as agents of social change. The implications of the role of Ambassadors for Peace are the strengthening of harmony between communities, the formation of an extensive social network, and changes in the attitudes of the individuals involved. Supporting factors for the role of East Java Ambassadors for Peace include an effective education strategy, active participation from various communities, and cross-institutional cooperation. The inhibiting factors are the unclear status of the organization in the BNPT RI Regulation, less than optimal funding, the busyness of members, and the use of rapid development of information technology by radical and terrorist groups
